Maryland Casinos generate over $163M in state revenue in April, slight decrease from 2023
MARYLAND (7News) — Maryland's six casinos generated roughly $163.2 million in revenue from table games and slot machines alone in April of this year, a decrease of about $11.6 million compared to last year.
All of Maryland's privately owned casinos provided impressive revenue gain last month, though all but one saw a decrease in revenue when compared this year compared to April 2023.
Combined, gaming contributions to the state totaled $69,799,072, a decrease of roughly $2.58 million dollars.
Hollywood Casino in Cecil County, saw a six percent growth in revenue when comparing April 2024 to April 2023, according to officials. They finished out the month with roughly $7.93 million dollars acquired from its 711 slot machines and 23 table games.
Anne Arundel County's Live! Casino and Hotel made $60.86 million across over 3,800 slot machines and roughly 180 table games. Compared to 2023, they fell short by $1.14 million.
Ocean Downs Casino in Worchester County and MGM National Harbor saw similar decreases, 7.6% and 9.8% respectively. Oceans Downs made roughly $7.32 million and MGM National Harbor brought in roughly $68.08 million, according to Maryland data.
Horseshoe Casino in Baltimore and Rocky Gap Casino in Allegany County saw the largest decreases between 2023 and 2024 at 10.8% and 20.6% respectively.
