Man arrested after allegedly trying to keep casino jackpot from being garnished
A man has been arrested after police say he had another person collect a casino jackpot to avoid having his winnings be garnished to pay his child support.
Billy J. Butler was at the Blue Chip casino, last month, and won more than $1300 dollars on a slot machine.
According to court documents, Butler asked a woman to cash out the claim. Police caught on to the phony claim and, when they asked Butler about it, he allegedly admitted he was trying to get the money without it being seized for his child support debt.
He was charged with cheating and arrested earlier this month for that warrant, as well as unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon and possession of cocaine, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC 57.
