Malta Gaming Authority Strips Smart Operations of License

Smart Operations Limited has been stripped of its operating license by Malta Gaming Authority. The cancellation took effect on April 30, 2021. Smart Operations violated terms in the Gaming Compliance and Enforcement Regulations. It can no longer offer games, accept deposits or register new accounts.
Malta Gaming Authority revoked Magic Services' license because it did not pay annual license fee and compliance contribution fees. The MGA has a track record of canceling licenses. It canceled seven licenses during the first six months of last year. It informed numerous other operators that they were in breach of certain rules and regulations.
The Malta Gaming Authority has streamlined the return to player (RTP) rates for land-based and online casinos. The minimum RTP percentage was lowered from 92% to 85%. The rules of online casino games also have to be available within a single click from the page on which people can play the game.
