Revenue increased 1% from the previous month, and is down 65% from April 2019, before the pandemic hit.

The latest jump compares with a low level a year earlier when China ramped up travel curbs to halt the virus. Last April, gaming revenue sank a record 97% to less than $100 million.

The accumulated revenue in the first four months of this year reached 32.04 billion patacas (about 4.0 billion dollars), up by 2.6% year-on-year. In February this year, the monthly gaming revenue soared 135.6% year-over-year.

Macau’s monthly gaming revenue kept a year-on-year decrease in 2020 due to the impact of COVID-19 and the following tightened travel restrictions to the SAR.
