London Casino Allowed Racial Abuse of Staff, Says Worker

The Mayfair casino allowed its millionaire clients to racially abuse staff, according to claims made to an employment tribunal this week.
Semhar Tesfagiorgis is a former employee of Crown London Aspinalls casino. She claims that casino patrons used racial slurs towards her and black colleagues without impunity. Tesgiorgi claims the casino failed to bar patrons who used such language and segregated black staff from players who made specific requests for white dealers.
Tesfagiorgis filed a claim with the London employment tribunal accusing the Crown Resorts-owned Aspinalls casino of race and sex discrimination, indirect sexdiscrimination, harassment, and victimization. She claims the casino discriminated against her and her colleagues in the past. The casino denies the allegations. The applicant described her treatment by the As pinball club as a “prolonged campaign of discriminiation and microaggressions”
This is not the first time a casino has been accused of racial discrimination.
