The five-year licences will allow LeoVegas to continue offering both sports betting and online casino in Denmark until 2026.

LeoVegas first received a Danish licence in 2016.

“Our Danish launch was one of our most successful, and the fact that we are now one of the largest operators in this market is testament to that,” said Gustaf Hagman, CEO of LeoVegas.

“I am thrilled that LeoVegas can continue to offer our customers in Denmark the greatest gaming experience, as a responsible and sustainable operator.”

Last week, LeoVegas announced that it would cease operations in the Netherlands to pursue Dutch licences, ahead of the country’s igaming market opening up on October 1.

Several other operators, including Betsson, Casumo and Entain also decided to temporarily block Dutch customers.

Last month, Spillemyndigheden released marketing guidance to operators on winnings from slot machines.
