The eCommerce Online Gaming Regulation and Assurance (eCOGRA) has assessed and tested LeoVegas’ framework and routines for the protection of consumers.

The certification agency has found that the gaming services “are in conformity with the recommendations the European Commission has published for online gaming.”

The British-based agency specialises in testing, certifying and assessing companies within the gaming sector. It was founded in 2003 to establish and improve operational standards and player safety requirements within the online gambling space.

During spring, eCOGRA conducted tests and interviews to assess whether LeoVegas was in conformity with the relevant European Commission recommendations ,such as protecting consumers and preventing minors from online gambling.

The assessment covered all of LeoVegas’ brands and all markets. The review shows that the operator met the standards set by the Commission and that there were no further remarks needed.

LeoVegas says the assessment was taken on its initiative, and believes it is vital to evaluate and ensure a safe gaming experience.

Gustaf Hagman, Group CEO LeoVegas, said: “Offering a safe and secure gaming experience and preventing minors from online gambling has always been our top priority.

“It is therefore reassuring that LeoVegas’ work in this area has now been assessed and reviewed by an external, independent party that confirms we are in conformity with the Commission’s recommendations.

"But our work doesn’t end here; we will continue the need to develop and raise the bar within the entire industry, to ensure gaming remains an exciting and safe form of entertainment.”

LeoVegas recently won its fourth Online Casino of the Year Award in a row at the Global Gaming Awards.
