Las Vegas police shoot robbery suspect near off-Strip casino

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said a robbery suspect was shot and injured by its officers late Thursday evening, near South Valley View and West Flamingo Road, near the Gold Coast Hotel and Casino.

According to LVMPD, around 11:00 p.m., detectives were conducting surveillance on a male robbery suspect. As detectives attempted to arrest the man, he pulled out a firearm which prompted at least 2 responding officers to shoot at him, injuring him.

The man was taken to UMC Trauma for treatment. No officers or bystanders were injured in this shooting.
