Las Vegas Grand Prix close to Formula One return after 40 years
Formula One could stage a race in Las Vegas as early as next year with talks progressing about using the famous strip. Sin City has long been a target of F1 but talks have stalled in the past, in particular over the use of the city’s famous main street filled with casinos.
It is understood that the all-powerful Las Vegas casinos had previously been hesitant about the prospect of an F1 race on the strip as it had the potential to reduce their footfall.
The city is no stranger to hosting big sporting events, in particular boxing, though the fights are normally held inside the casinos, helping to bring more people to them.
However, it now appears that negotiations are moving in the right direction
