The Super Bowl brought Las Vegas back to life. Nevada's 179 sports books took in nearly $180 million in wagers for Superbowl LVI. Los Angeles Rams beat Cincinnati Bengals 23-20. The books made $15.4 million off of Sunday's game. The previous Super bowl was canceled and the previous one was muted. Las Las casinos saw a big increase in gambling. They are MGM Resorts International and Caesars Entertainment.
Nevada's sports betting books took a hit in May 2018 after the Supreme Court struck down a 1992 federal law that effectively banned commercial sports gambling in most states. 2019 saw $146 million in wagers on the Super Bowl, down from $158 million the previous year. 2020 saw a rise in the handle to $154.7 million.
Betters wagered $136.1 million in Nevada's sportsbooks on the Super Bowl in 2021. It was the fourth-highest total recorded since 2012. Caesars took in three $1.5 million bets in Vegas and BetMGM took three bets of $1000 or more at Bellagio.
