Korean games supplier Neowiz signs 5-year deal to use Kangwon Land slot machine content
South Korean online games publisher Neowiz has signed a deal with Kangwon Land granting it rights to use the content of Kangwon-owned slot machines on its platforms for a period of five years.
Located in Gangwon Province around 150 kilometers from Seoul, Kangwon Land is the only casino nationwide in which Koreans are permitted to gamble. The company also develops its own slot machines under the “KL Saberi” brand which it sells to casinos across Korea and the broader Asian region.
Under this latest deal, Neowiz will be able to use the contents of 10 types of KL Saberi slot machines for both online and mobile platforms. It currently plans to use the content to produce social casino games.
The two companies stated at a signing ceremony on Monday that they will also discuss joint game development in the future based on the capabilities of both companies.
“The establishment of a cooperative relationship with Kangwon Land, which is well received at home and abroad by showing a Korean theme among slot machine manufacturers, will help strengthen our market competitiveness,” said Neowiz CEO Moon Ji-soo.
