The slot machine arm of Korea’s only casino for locals, Kangwon Land, has signed a distribution deal with Malaysia’s RGB International Bhd that will see its first ever foreign installation take place in the Philippines.

The new distribution deal was signed at the Sheraton Manila Bay Hotel in Manila on Thursday with the first 30 machines to be installed in April.

Kangwon Land, which manufactures its slot machine line, KL Saberi, in nearby Taebaek and supplies mainly to its own casino plus a handful of others in Korea, first launched its slots business in February 2017. It had previously supplied 38 machines to five casinos in the Philippines on a trial basis but this latest order represents its first officials sale to a foreign operator.

“The slot machine manufacturing business is a highly anticipated business with many advantages such as fostering small and medium-sized enterprises related to Korea, creating jobs in the region and acquiring foreign currency,” said Kangwon Land CEO Lee Sam-geol.
