Kerry Lotto player scoops quarter of a million euro as biggest jackpot ever could be for grabs this week
An Lotto player in Kerry is celebrating this Sunday after winning the top prize of €250,000 in last night’s draw.
The Kingdom player became the biggest winner of the night after purchasing their winning ticket on Friday.
The National Lottery has confirmed that a notification has been sent to the user’s online account, and a separate email has also been sent to them.
The winner is now being encouraged to contact the prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or claims@lottery.ie so that arrangements can be made for them to claim their prize.
"We are urging all of our online players in Kerry to log in and check their tickets carefully toda," said a National Lottery spokesperson.
"If you are the winning ticket holder, we would advise you to make contact with our prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or claims@lottery.ie and arrangements will be made for you to claim your prize.”
The winning numbers in last night’s (Saturday 25th September) Lotto Plus 2 draw were: 02, 07, 17, 24, 39, 42 and the bonus was 29.
As there was no winner of the staggering €18,135,063 jackpot on offer in last night’s draw, Wednesday’s jackpot is now estimated to roll to €19 million which could become the highest jackpot ever seen in the history of the Lotto game in Ireland.
A National Lottery spokesperson said: “And the roll continues! The excitement levels have truly gone up a few notches as we get into record-breaking territory for the Lotto game.
"As Wednesday’s jackpot heads towards the highest amount ever seen in the game to an estimated €19 million, we could see a new jackpot cap set following the midweek draw.
"The Lotto jackpot is currently capped at €18.96 million and this represents the record breaking Lotto jackpot win by the Dan Morrissey syndicate in Carlow in June 2008. Once the jackpot exceeds the cap, no more money will be added to the jackpot prize until it is won.
"The funds that would normally go to the jackpot will be distributed to the next lower prize tier at which there are winners. If the jackpot is won at an amount higher than €18.96 million, that amount will become the game’s new jackpot cap.”
