Indiana is considering a new online casino bill. It would allow online poker and blackjack to be legal in the state by September 1, 2023. The bill would also include the Hoosier Lottery. The previous bill was rejected by the legislature in 2022.
Indiana Eyes Online Casino in September 2023 via New Bill. Bill will permit the state's 11 casinos and racinos to offer online casino games. The Hoosier Lottery will also be able to sell online versions of its games if the bill passes. Casinos will pay $500,000 for their initial license and $50,00 per year to renew it. 3.33% of the revenue from the business will go to the Addiction Services Fund.
Indiana was one of the early adopters of legal mobile sports betting. It reported $452.3m in sports wagers for November. Indiana joins New York, New Jersey, Illinois, Pennsylvania, and Nevada as the only US states to reach the $10bn all-time handle mark.
