Indiana Experiences a Small Drop in September Casino Revenue
Indiana's casino revenue for September was slightly above $194.7 million. The cumulative win of the racinos and casinos in Indiana was $206.6 million, which is a 1.3% decline from August. In September, the free-play revenue was less than $12.1 million compared to August's $11.5 million and the adjusted revenue gap shrunk to $1.4 million month-over-month.
Indiana collected $39.6 million in taxes in September. Sports betting and supplemental taxes brought the total amount to $47 million. Chicago is considered an underserved market for casino gaming. Horseshoe Hammond ranked first and Hard Rock Northern Indiana ranked second. Hard Rancher's table games revenue was $8.2 million, Hourseshoer Hammond's $24.9 million and Ameristar's slot revenue $16.1 million were the only two venues to generate less than $100,000 per table.
The profit from table games increased, but the profit for slots declined. The total amount of slots generated in Indiana in September was $167.8 million, 1.1% lower than August. Table games recorded a 1% increase in profits.
