How US online gambling compares to the rest of the world
Online gambling is a vast and growing industry on a global scale. It is also a source of controversy, with some countries embracing it wholeheartedly and others outlawing it explicitly.
There are many good and big names offering online gambling in the US. Land-based casinos still account for most spending. In the UK, web- based casinos are responsible for the majority of wagering activities. in places like the United Kingdom, legal online casinos have been available for more than two decades.
In some states, online gambling is restricted to residents of a few states. In other states it's legal but there are grey areas regarding its regulation. The UK has a lot of online casinos, many of which are licensed in the UK but operate from other parts of the world. States should require all casinos to be licensed regardless of their location. Ideally America would eventually move towards this model. It would also help realize the economic potential of this industry. in Western Europe. i.e. require casinos be licenced regardless if they are in Europe or in another country.
Some states have been giving the green light to online gambling. Some regions still prohibit it. It is not impossible to imagine a future in which players of all backgrounds can place wagers from their smartphone or PC in most parts of the country.
