GST GoM on casinos and online gaming to meet on Tuesday. The panel will finalise its report on taxing these activities. It will consider increasing the tax on online skill gaming from 18% to 28%. The final report will be submitted by July 15. The GoA minister Mauvin Godinho has argued that casinos need better understanding and treatment. He has asked the GoG to review its previous report. In the report, the activities should be taxed at 28% on the full value of the consideration. For example, in case of casinos, it should apply at the rate of 28%, while in race courses it would be levied at a higher rate.
