Germany’s New Federal Gambling Regulator Is Ready to Get Down to Business

Die Glücksspielbehörde (GGLG) has replaced the Saxony-Anhalt State Administration Office as the official gambling regulator in Germany. GGL takes over from the previous decentralized system. Germany launched the legal market for online casinos last year.
GGL is the new Federal Gambling Regulator. It will be busy putting its plans of fighting illegal gambling operations into practice. The new regulatory body has already created the necessary structures and processes. Additional details on how these tools will work will also be presented to the public in the upcoming days.
GGL will have 110 employees by the beginning of 2023. It will take over the regulation of all forms of gambling in Germany. Some of Saxony-Anhalt's ex-staff members will join the new regulatory body. Nadja Wierzejewski will be the department head. She will use her expertise to fight illegal gambling and related ads that are outside the law.
