Novo Interactive obtains German licence for BluBet slot games
The State Administrative Office of Saxony-Anhalt has granted Novo Interactive subsidiary BluBet Operations licence approval for the operation of virtual slot machine games in Germany.
Novo Interactive operates the Novoline online platform, offering a range of virtual slot games from a variety of developers.
The licence approval marks BluBet as one of the first providers to receive such a permit, with the company now included on a white list compiled by the Joint Gaming Authority of the Federal States.
Novo Interactive MD Oliver Bagus said: “The State Treaty on Gaming gives us licensed providers a clear mandate: we must steer the gaming needs of millions of people into legal, safe channels – away from the illegal market.
“This requires attractive gaming products. We take this channelling mission very seriously and are now bringing it to life with our virtual Novoline platform.”
Novo Interactive holds an additional licence for sports betting activities in Germany. The company is a subsidiary of Löwen Entertainment, one of the largest gaming machine manufacturers and arcade operators in the country.
The approval grants The Gauselmann Group permission to offer players access to its virtual slots titles, under the Merkur Spiel brand.
German gaming restrictions tightened last year, under the new Interstate Treaty on Gambling. The move was met with industry pushback and saw Kindred Group withdraw its Unibet brand from the country.
