Genesee County lottery club wins $1.7 million jackpot
GENESEE COUNTY, Mich. (WJRT) - April Fools Day was no joke for a Genesee County lottery club, which won a $1.7 million jackpot from the Michigan Lottery on April 1.
The eight-member club, who all chose to remain anonymous, won the Jumbo Jackpot Slots Fast Cash jackpot with a ticket purchased at MoJoe’s Food & Spirit at 4300 N. State Road in Davison.
A club representative said they bought the ticket when the noticed the jackpot was getting high.
“One of the members looked it over and saw we had won, so another member scanned it on her lottery app to confirm the prize," the representative said. "When the amount of $1.7 million came up on the screen, we got loud. We were all so excited.”
The Michigan Lottery offers 10 fast cash games ranging in price from $2 to $20 per play. The progressive jackpot, which all 10 games feed, continues growing until someone wins.
The jackpot starts growing again after someone claims the big prize.
