The UK Gambling Commission has released the results of its research into gamblers' spending habits. The study addressed a series of industry stereotypes and found the need for more efficient regulations. It provided critical information related to the different betting stages that players go through in different contexts.

The gambling study asked more than 1000 respondents to answer questions regarding their spending habits, spending limits, preferred forms of gambling, access to gambling resources and the need for the current gambling regulations to change.

The average British player spends around £70 per week on gambling. Biggest spenders live in London and Yorkshire. Most players consider £192 per weekly to be too much to spend. Close to 55% of players engage in gambling twice a week and a little over 20% do it once every two weeks.

85% of UK's Gamblers have a gambling app on their phone. Sports betting and online gambling are the most popular types of gambling in the UK. Offline gambling is the least popular. 70% believe the current gambling regulations in UK should be changed. The UKGC has acted too harshly on the industry.
