Joseph Cheong and Todd Witteles claim they were swiped from their bank accounts by fraudsters who created online gambling accounts under their names. Kyna England made a deposit on WSOP.com in 2020 and noticed a transaction on November 10, 2022 tied to the same scam.

Witteles was scammed out of $10,000 on BetMGM West Virginia. Cheong, a WSOP bracelet winner and the 2010 Main Event third place finisher, shared a similar story on Twitter. England, Brock Wilson, and David Bach were also victims.

Joseph Cheong got debited via echeck for $9.8k little over a week ago by BetMGMPoker.

Fraudsters accessed e-Check payments on BetMGMG and WSOP.com using Global Payments' VIP Preferred service. The service allows high-rollers to deposit up to $50,000 within a seven-day period into their online casino account. Global Payment verifies the identity of customers. Fraudsters are opening new accounts in states where the victim does not have an account already. BetmGM is aware of the issue and is working to make sure refunds are processed.   “We're aware and are working with impacted patrons to ensure refunds.”

Todd Witteles is not going to rest regarding the bank theft issue perpetrated through GlobalPayInc and WSOP using BetMGM.
