‘For Hire’ sign posted at Cascades Casino North Bay
Cascades Casino North Bay is hiring.
Rob Mitchell, Director Communications & Public Affairs, says they’re looking to hire over 200 employees.
“Everything from security to accounting to the cash cage, floor staff, to dealers, roulette, blackjack, poker,” he says. “There’s a lot of jobs, a lot of opportunities, so we’re getting ready. We recruit locally and we will train our staff.”
Mitchell says their online job fairs this week have been well attended with more lined up next week.
With construction, he says interior infrastructure is the focus with electrical work and kitchen amenities for both restaurants.
“Folks, if they’re driving by, will notice that we are completely connected now. We have full hydro service, the signage has gone up and the building is completely enclosed. Most of the work now is internal and it’s the internal infrastructure required to open.”
As for an opening date, Mitchell says they will be opening in the new year.
“It will be early in the new year. I just want to be cautious because we live in uncertain times right now. COVID is certainly creating some challenges for everybody in the hospitality sector,” he says.
Mitchell says they’ll run a boot camp and mock casino with their staff a month to six weeks before opening to the public.
He also says there are compliance measures to go through with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario and Ontario Lottery and Gaming to get the okay to open.
