Fontainebleau Las Vegas Casino is set to open in Q4 2023. Fontaineblue Development has a diverse portfolio that includes properties in the gaming, commercial, retail, and hospitality spaces. Its leading assets include the Fontanebleu Miami Beach, Big Easy Casino, JW Marriott Turnberry Resort & Spa.
The Fontainebleau Las Vegas was supposed to be the tallest building in Nevada apart from the Strat observation tower. It was built on the same site as the casino resort that was due to open in 2008. The project was put on hold due in part to funding issues. Carl Icahn bought the project out of bankruptcy in 2010 for $106m. New Valley LLC and Witkoff Group bought it for $600m in August 2017. Construction was halted in March 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Fontainbleu Development bought back the site in February 2021 for about $350m and changed the name to Fontanablee Las Vegas.
