A Floyd County man has won an Iowa Lottery prize of more than $14,000.

Thomas Chambers of Rockford won the Jumbo Bucks Progressive InstaPlay jackpot prize after he purchased his winning ticket at Casey’s in Nora Springs. Chambers claimed his prize December 8th at the lottery’s Mason City regional office.

The Jumbo Bucks Progressive jackpot starts at $5,000 and increases with every ticket sold statewide until it is won, which in Chambers’ case was $14,030.

Within the past five weeks, north Iowans have won over a half-million dollars combined with Iowa Lottery scratch tickets.

45-year-old Gregory Monahan of Mason City won $300,000 in the “Ruby Red Crossword;” Brent Quigley of Goodell (about 30 miles southwest of Mason City) and 77-year-old Kenneth Putnam of Osage both won $50,000 with the “$50,000 Super Crossword;” and 63-year-old Allen Walker of Algona won $50,000 on Thanksgiving day with the “$100,000 Mega Crossword.”
