Florida woman upset over slot machine loss pretends to plant bomb in casino
CLEARWATER, Fla. – A woman who lost $380 to the slot machines at Seminole Hard Rock Casino this week decided to gamble with something even more valuable — her freedom.
Upset over her loss, 54-year-old Adele Belizaire called the casino when she got back to her Clearwater Beach hotel room and told them she planted a bomb in the building, according to the Clearwater Police Department.
At about 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, her “self-admitted anger issues” got the best of her, police said. When the casino received Belizaire’s call, they notified police.
Belizaire later told officers she just wanted to “blow off steam.” She had no intention or ability to actually plant a bomb, according to police.
Police arrested her early on Wednesday and booked her into the Pinellas County Jail.
She is facing a charge for making a false report about planting a bomb, explosive or weapon of mass destruction.
