Joseph Jagger broke the bank in Monte Carlo in 1871. He studied the roulette tables at the casino for a month and won the equivalent of £8 million. He redesigned the Roulette wheel because he noticed an imperfection.
Maria Gertrudis Tules Barceló was a saloon owner and professional gambler in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She set up a pop up casino in 1825 and earned enough to buy her own casino. Barcelló died in 1850 leaving a fortune to her family.
