First-quarter launch expectation for Cambodian casino
Century Entertainment International Holdings Limited plans to launch high-end gaming table operations at a new casino in southwest Cambodia before the end of March. The coming facility is set to debut in the Dara Sakor investment zone located along the coast of Koh Kong Province. It will offer 40 mass-market gaming tables and 55 VIP counterparts.
Century Entertainment International Holdings Limited paid almost $15.48 million in 2019 to obtain a five-year license to run a gambling-friendly property in the seaside resort city of Sihanoukville. The agreement was put on hold last April after Cambodia shuttered all of its casinos owing to the coronavirus pandemic.
Ng moved his company's Sihanoukville casino 37 miles to a site within the Dara Sakor precinct. The new enterprise is being developed as part of China's ambitious 'Belt and Road' initiative. It is expected to begin welcoming VIP patrons in the first quarter of 2021.
