Evolution Introduces its Mega Ball in B.C.

British Columbia Lottery Corporation continues to enhance its online gaming offerings for bettors. Most recently, Evolution announced that it has inked an agreement with the Crown agency to debut its Mega Ball on BCLC’s PlayNow online platform. Now, the province will become the first client of the provider in North America to integrate the title from a North American studio.
BCLC owns and operates the only regulated online gambling, sports betting, and lottery website in the Province of B.C., PlayNow.com. It is also the only one in the province, from which profits are reinvested into local community groups, healthcare, education, and more. Also, it comes with much-needed player protections to reduce the risks of developing problem gambling.
Coming to PlayNow
The launch of Mega Ball on the B.C. gaming platform is a first for the Canadian market. The new game will complement the platform’s broad selection of iGaming products, such as live table games and Dream Wheeler by Evolution. This latest partnership further bolsters the partnership between the provider and the Crown, who have been working together since 2018.
For those unfamiliar with the game, Mega Ball is a high-octane game show which combines a handful of thrilling features and mechanics. The premium online product is quite popular among players outside of the North American markets for its exciting entertainment.
Jeff Millar, Chief Commercial Officer of North America at Evolution remarked that the relationship with the Crown has grown exponentially and the launch of the game is another important milestone in their joint adventure. He explained that the game is uniquely designed for North American lotteries and that the company is pleased to deliver it to the BCLC.
Meanwhile, BCLC’s Dan Beebe, who is COO, commented that the interactive features and captivating mechanics of the title will be an instant hit among players of PlayNow. The official said that the launch enables another layer of excitement for the website, as the Crown continues its strategic focus to deliver a truly authentic online betting experience for its patrons.
BCLC in 2023
So far in 2023, the BCLC has been keeping itself quite busy with new partnerships and improvements. This month, the Crown corporation struck a five-year contract renewal with MGM Resorts International and BetMGM. Through the extension, the two gaming entities will continue to utilize the Crown’s award-winning GameSense player protection program at their brick-and-mortar and online casino operations.
Prior to that, the Crown corporation reported that it has made some improvements to its Game Break self-exclusion program, which allows users to willingly exclude themselves from gambling activities. The upgrade will make the program more approachable and introduce additional elements to support its ambition to have the healthiest bettors in the worldwide gambling industry.
