Evil Geniuses signs Bitcasino as latest partner
North American esports organisation Evil Geniuses (EG) announced a strategic partnership with Bitcoin-focused casino operator, Bitcasino.
Per a release, EG’s partnership with Bitcasino is the first of its kind in esports. As a result of the agreement, the Bitcasino logo will be featured on the sleeve of player jerseys beginning with the Blast Premier Fall Showdown.
Bitcasino, part of Yolo Group, is a cryptocurrency-based digital gaming platform that offers over 2,800 games including traditional casino titles like slots, roulette, poker, and baccarat.
A custom challenge course map in CS:GO has been created for the Bitcasino partnership by Evil Geniuses player and content creator Tarik Celik. The map is available for fans to download on Steam.
Further, a content series headlined by EG CS:GO and DOTA 2 players will invite fans to submit gameplay videos. Pro players will film reactions to the videos and share them on social media.
Bitcasino will be showcased across a number of EG facets including the Evil Geniuses DOTA 2, Counter-Strike, FGC and Creator rosters.
Head of Bitcasino Kaupo Kangro said: “We love Evil Geniuses’ passion and forward-thinking approach to everything they do. They have been changing the game for more than 20 years, which is why they make the perfect partner for Bitcasino.
“They’re true pioneers who share our values for fun, fast and fair gaming. It’s an honour to see the Bitcasino logo on the EG jersey, and we’re excited about the great content that we will be partnering on for Evil Geniuses fans around the world.”
Brian Millman, Director of Corporate Partnerships at Evil Geniuses said: “Evil Geniuses has always been a trailblazer within esports and bringing on a pioneer in their industry like Bitcasino, EG continues our commitment to engage our fans in new and innovative ways.”
Esports Insider says: It’s no secret that cryptocurrency has become a common partner in esports, but casino games like slots have thus far remained separate. This partnership is an interesting one, as it combines a popular esports trend (crypto) with an uncommon one (casino games).
