In one of the first partnerships of its kind, esports betting platform Unikrn has agreed a deal with casino games giant Microgaming to become part of the company’s content aggregation platform, bringing esports betting service Unikrn Virtual to millions of customers.
Unikrn Virtual provides a seamless way for customers to place bets on a number of the most popular esports games including Call of Duty, CS:GO, Mortal Kombat, and Street Fighter. Bespoke content has been created, featuring many of the top esports professionals in the world, to ensure the service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The partnership announced on Monday, July 13, will see Unikrn able to expand the availability of its product to be included in many different online casinos where Microgaming software is installed and for Microgaming, it further diversifies the number of products and betting options available to its customers by including the first-ever bespoke virtual esports betting service as part of the platform.
“Innovative esports gaming experiences”
Speaking about the agreement between the two companies, the Commercial Director at Microgaming Leon Thomas commented:
“Microgaming has a rich history of product innovation and development, and we are constantly exploring new avenues to deliver unique content that raises the bar of entertainment. Unikrn has a strong reputation for delivering innovative esports gaming experiences that capture the attention of players around the world, and we firmly believe the addition of their esports product will allow us to bring something special to the market.”
In response, the co-founder of Unikrn Rahul Sood stated his delight at the deal:
“When I left my position as CEO of Microsoft Ventures, it was to create something unprecedented. Unikrn Virtual is a never-ending well of exclusive content that will change the betting landscape. With our Microgaming partnership, I’m excited to access Microgaming’s network and global reach.”
“Unikrn Virtual is the solution to the single most foundational issue facing bookmakers today,” added Unikrn COO Andrew Vouris, “Even in the fast world of esports, content gaps can wreak havoc on bettor engagement. For bettors who want engaging 24/7 options, Unikrn Virtual is the only option.”
Expansive Reach
The move is a potentially lucrative one for both companies. Microgaming have been steadily expanding their portfolio of partnerships with slots and casino game developers over the last two years but the tie-up with Unikrn is their first-ever engagement with esports. The company is one of the foremost casino game developers in the world today and its games are also part of the expansive Casino Rewards Network, which boasts over 15 million customers alone.
It’s games are known across the world and include the popular progressive jackpot slot Mega Moolah, which regularly pays out top prizes of several million pounds/euros/dollars to lucky winners.
For Unikrn the deal allows them to partner with a company with an expansive reach across the globe into the casino gaming and slots industry, allowing those customers to engage and interact with virtual esports betting for the first time.
