More sanctions are likely to be placed on Crown Resorts in Melbourne, Australia, following investigations into its business practices.

This time the Victorian state authorities are examining the casino company’s exchanges of blank cheques for gambling chips.

The Gambling and Casino Control Commission issued a notice to the operator, forcing it to provide information. It is the third disciplinary proceeding raised against Crown Melbourne after the highly-critical outcome of the Royal Commission.

Australian newsfeed MSN said that Crown had breached the Casino Control Act by exchanging blank cheques for gambling chips. Players had made out blank cheques to themselves for the chips.

The operator faces a fine of as much as A$100m and further restrictions placed on its casino licence. The operator has already gone through a series of major reforms since the Royal Commission.
