The Victorian Gambling and Casino Control Commission has changed the rules for electronic gaming machines at Crown Melbourne to help reduce harm.

VGCCC introduced new rules for playing electronic gaming machines at Crown Melbourne. The rules better align with the responsible gambling objectives in the Gambling Regulation Act 2003 and the Casino Control Act 1991. The VGCCC is monitoring compliance and will take regulatory action if Crown does not comply with new regulations. It is also making other technical and administrative rule changes relating to playing on EGMs at the casino. They are able to make rules relating for EGM at casino under section 3.5.23(3) of the GR Act.

EGM players at the casino will no longer be able to play more than one machine at a time.
