The Palms in Las Vegas reopening, a possible Live! Casino coming to Orlando and two purchases of online gaming companies in the US and Italy are just a few of the things CardsChat picked up during the past week.
A Florida businessman wants to build a casino with a poker room in Fern Park, Florida. The proposal needs to be approved by Seminole County voters in a referendum. RD Management bought the fronton building for $2.5 million in 2010. It already submitted plans to redevelop the land with 1,100 apartments and 72,000 square feet of commercial space.
The Nevada Gaming Commission approved the $650 million sale of The Palms to the San Manuel Gaming and Hospitality Authority. The authority is owned by the San Francisco Band of Mission Indians. It will be the first Native American tribe to operate a casino in Las Vegas.
Wind Creek Hospitality bought the online gaming company FlowPlay. Flowplay owns and operates three casinos in Alabama and four more in Pennsylvania, Nevada, Aruba, and Curacao. Live Game Night Poker allows up to 10 people to play poker “face-to-face” online.
Flutter Entertainment bought Italian online gambling corporation Sisal for $2.2 billion. The deal gives Flutter control of 20% of the Italian's online gaming market. Salis generated $280 million in 2021, with 58% coming from its online offering and the remainder from a combination of retail and lottery operations.
