Alberta agricultural society objects to relocating casino from Camrose to Edmonton citing legal concerns. The society claims the casino's owners owe it money. Mayfield Investments Ltd. is seeking $500,000 in punitive damages. The dispute arose between the parties regarding the operation of the Casino and the indebtedness owed by Mayfied to Camros. It was settled in 2015, but the society is still owed money, as part of a public health restrictions. They were imposed to prevent the spread of COVID-19. In March, the association filed a statement of claim seeking more than $1.7 million from Mayfields.
