$15K raised during Resident Benefit Fund casino night at Heritage of Green Hills
The Heritage of Green Hills, a healthy life plan community in Shillington, invited their family, friends and community to attend Casino Night on Saturday, October 15th, and raised over $15,000 to support The Heritage Resident Benefit Fund.
The Executive Director of HOGH, Doug Walther, said, “Casino Night is our most popular event we hold annually. It is a resident-driven event that raises money for our Resident Benefit Fund.”
The Resident Benefit Fund was established in 2013 by residents of HOGH. Their goal is to create an environment for all residents, present and future, to enjoy their life at HOGH without concern regarding financial difficulties. The benefit fund holds two events each year.
For a donation of $30, attendees received $2,000 in chips to roll the dice, play cards, or win a bonus on a slot machine. The winners would cash their chips for tickets that would be used in over 25 raffle baskets drawings.
Ivan Shibley, a resident at HOGH and Casino Night chairperson, said, “We want to thank every resident and company that donated for the raffle baskets and the silent and live auctions. We would not have the opportunity to raise over $15,000 without the help of every donation.”
Throughout the night, guests participated in silent and live auctions. There were a variety of different prizes that high rollers betted on with one of the top jackpots raising over $4,000 in the live auction.
“Our annual Casino Night was remarkable,” said Ivan. “We will continue to keep our community together with these events. Next year’s Casino Night will be more extraordinary than this one.”
