Walker's Bluff Gets Approval For Changes To Illinois Casino Plan
Illinois Gaming Board approved a key change to the casino license application submitted by the Walker’s Bluff Casino Resort. The group will begin construction on a permanent facility in Williamson County. Hard Rock International was approved in June to begin building a temporary casino in Rockford.
Walker's Bluff project partner Elite Casino Resorts wants to start construction on the permanent casino before the end of September. The temporary casino will be moved to October. Elite will look for a sportsbook partner for the casino's retail sportsbooks. The permanent one could be open 15 months earlier than originally planned. It would be a change from how Elite operates sports betting in Iowa. it runs its own sports books at Rhythm City Casino in Davenport and Riverside Casino and Golf Resort in Colorado.
