A Ventura County grandfather scored a record $1.3 million jackpot at the Chumash Casino Resort over the weekend, his second large win at the Santa Ynez facility in less than six weeks.

The man, who has chosen to stay anonymous and whose city of residence hasn't been revealed, rang up $1,366,715 on a progressive slot machine after 9 p.m. Saturday, the Chumash Casino Resort said in a news release.

He's the same local grandfather who scored more than $556,000 on a slot machine on May 25.

The two machines stand next to each other in the casino's Higher Limit room, resort officials said.

"I was just surprised and very glad," the man said in the release.

He told casino officials he'd come to win the $1.3 million jackpot — the largest in the facility's history — after his big win in May. He visits every couple months or so, according to the release.

After the May jackpot, the grandfather said he planned to buy one granddaughter a new car and give money to two other grandchildren for a college fund.

The proceeds from Saturday's win will be shared with his children and grandchildren, he told casino representatives.

The resort's prior record was a 2014 jackpot of more than $1.02 million.

The casino, which is open to visitors age 21 and older, is owned and operated by the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians. The 24/7 facility on Highway 246 has 2,300 slot machines, 45 table games, bingo and weekly prizes.
