Ticker: Casino revenue down slightly; Joe Perry selling Duxbury digs, $4.5M

Revenue at the state’s two resort casinos and one slots parlor in August took a small step backward from the highs of July, with the three gaming centers generating about $92 million compared to $95.74 million the month before.

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission said Wednesday that the state’s share of August’s gaming revenue would be about $26.15 million, a slight decrease from the record $27 million in taxes and fees the casinos and slots generated for the state in July but still well above the monthly average of $21.84 million since all three facilities have been open.

Once again, Encore Boston Harbor led the way. The Everett casino reported $57.86 million in gross gaming revenue last month — about $32.4 million from its slot machines and about $25.4 from its table games.

MGM Springfield counted about $21.8 million in gaming revenue last month, with almost $17 million of it having been generated by the casino’s slots.

Joe Perry selling Duxbury digs, $4.5M

Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry is selling his home in Duxbury for $4.5 million, the Patriot Ledger reported.

The seven-acre gated estate known as Brook Haven Farm features a heated pool in the shape of a guitar, a rooftop garden, a three-stall barn, a high-tech media room, three fireplaces, a gym and a billiards room, according to the listing.

The estate also includes a recording studio where Aerosmith recorded much of the 2001 album “Just Push Play” and 2004’s “Honkin’ on Bobo,” the newspaper reported.
