The biggest gambling trends in 2024 -, Gaming Blog
The gambling industry is constantly changing. Among other things, it is affected by technological developments like few others. We thought we'd devote this article to examining some of the trends that are predicted to be the biggest in the year 2024.
Virtual Reality is a trend that we really hope will emerge as one of the top ones this year. There's no denying the potential of VR, as the name is abbreviated. What's more, Virtual Reality could be compatible with games of many different kinds. This includes everything from online casinos with the highest RTP to adventure games, sports games and action games.
While there has already been a lot of experimentation with VR, we are still waiting to see the technology's big breakthrough. There are various theories as to why this has not yet happened. There is probably some truth in most of them.
For example, it could be that VR is not yet advanced enough, that the games released using the technology have not been good enough, and that VR glasses still cost too much money.
Of course, there's no saying that Virtual Reality will ever have its definitive breakthrough, but we certainly hope so. The potential and gaming experiences this would enable is something that could very well change the gaming industry forever!
Augmented Reality means "augmented reality." AR, as it is abbreviated, is very similar to VR. Unlike VR, AR is not a pure virtual reality, but just as the name suggests, it is a combination of the real world and a digitised one.
The fact that AR is not 100% virtual means that it is not necessary to use VR glasses to be able to take part in the technology. Instead, it is currently most common for mobile phones and tablets to use it. One example is the various filters available on Snapchat and other social media. These are digital special effects added to real-world environments, such as people's faces.
Admittedly, AR has been used in various ways in the gaming industry for many years. However, there is undoubtedly potential for increased application of the technology when it comes to games for various media. In all likelihood, this is also something we will witness soon, perhaps as early as 2024?
Artificial intelligence, or AI, is a concept that no technology enthusiast can have missed. In recent years, there has been a lot of talk about AI in several different contexts, one of which is game development.
So far, AI is still said to be relatively limited in the gaming industry, but given the impact it has had in other areas of technology, this may well change in the near future.
For example, there is speculation that AI may be used by more and more gaming companies to automate and streamline the production of games. Already now, for example, it is said that more and more game manufacturers have started to use AI to create images for their games. In the coming years, it will be exciting to see exactly how big an impact artificial intelligence can have on the gaming industry.
For those of us who have been around since the late 1980s, the development of e-sports is already unbelievable. Thanks to it, gambling has gone from being something that in many countries was considered geeky to being equated with traditional sports in many cases. This applies, for example, to the money involved and the ways in which the various players and teams are idolised.
We ourselves see no end in sight for the popularity of e-sports, but if anything it is only likely to grow further in 2024. The fact that the various matches attract ever higher viewing figures could very likely result in the money linked to rights and advertising in connection with major tournaments skyrocketing.
As in the case of traditional sports, this could also result in a player such as Saudi Arabia raising the stakes and pumping more and more money into the industry. Whether this is a desirable development or not is of course debatable, but it does not seem unrealistic.
We also have a lot of exciting game releases to look forward to in 2024. At the time of writing, this includes the following titles:
- Awowed
- S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl
- Star Wars Outlaws
- Indiana Jones and the Great Circle
- Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2
- Black Myth: Wukong
- Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2
- Baby Steps
In addition, there have already been a number of big titles released so far this year, including these:
- The Last of Us Part II Remastered
- TEKKEN 8
- Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth
- Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League
- Skull and Bones
- Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
As you can see, the 2024 gaming year has started in a very good way. We can only hope that it will continue like this, which certainly doesn't seem unlikely given the upcoming game releases!
