Station Casinos workers are protesting in front of the Culinary Union headquarters. They want their workers to respect their decision not to have union representation. Union says there's more to the protest than meets the eye. Station Casino workers from Palace Station and Boulder Station voted no on unionization last year.
The Culinary Union is protesting against Station Casinos management and their workers at Palace Station and Boulder Station. The company is fighting back on behalf of its workers. StationCasinos and the union have had various legal battles in the last decade over union representation for their employees. A judge with the National Labor Relations Board is set to hear arguments from both sides on August 31. Last month, a U.S. district judge ordered Station to start negotiations with union for workers in Red Rock Resort. It is alleged that the company interfered with their union election more than a year ago with timing of announcing a new benefits package for employees at the resort.
