Sweden's national gambling regulator has imposed IP bans on 23 Curacao-based operators.
Spelinspektionen has made public the names and locations of 23 illegal gambling businesses operating out of Curacao. Spelinspiece has ordered the IP bans on the websites of these businesses and payment providers to impose payment injunctions. The aim is to protect the regulated online gambling marketplace.
Spelinspektionen ordered incumbents to protect the public from excessive gambling during the period of lockdowns. The government tasked the gambling authority to come up with an assessment of the effectiveness of measures. Spelin's will submit the first part of its report to the minister of social affairs by the end of October 2022.
