GamStop is a self-exclusion gambling scheme created to handle players’ gambling. It was launched in 2018 but it has become compulsory for online operators from 31 March 2020. GamStop has hired a new non-executive director.
A new non-executive director was appointed to the Gamstop's senior leadership team. Roger Parkes is the only other non executive director. Simon Reynolds is a former Chief Compliance Officer at Buzz Bingo and has over 30 years of experience in the gambling industry. He will bring his expertise to bring policies and strategies related to safe and responsible gambling to GamStop's board.
Gamstop allows UK-based gamblers to self-exclude themselves from the gambling websites and applications of their choice. There is a significant increase in the number of people registering for the service. In the first semester of 2020, 40,000 new registrations were made. Some of the registered have been positively affected. The British are becoming more aware of gambling behaviour. They are also more likely to use the tools they used to avoid any gambling-related problem.
