Sale of Louisiana's Diamond Jack Casino gets green light
The abandoned Diamond Jacks Casino in Bossier City, Louisiana, will be sold to Foundation Gaming. Foundation will spend $200 million on the renovation and hopes to open the new casino by December 2024.
The 26-acre property will be completely renovated and rebranded. The building was built in 1994 and has been vacant for the last two years. It will include a 47.000 square foot casino, a hotel of 405 rooms, and a minimum of three restaurants. There will also be a pool, spa, sports wagering, the live entertainment events center, VIP lounge, over a thousand slots and fifty tables.
The project is fully supported by Bossier City Major Thomas Chandler, Bossiest Parish Police Jury and Democratic state Representative Sem Jenkins. The first casino in the Shreveport-Bossier market was opened on this property back in 1994. Diamond Jacks shut its doors in 2020 due to the COVID pandemic. Peninsula never intended to reopen the casino.
