If you have plans to go to the Owensboro Big Blue Bingo Hall Thursday night for Trinity High School's Bingo, you better B-Y-O-C. Yep! Bring your own chair because there may not be enough chairs in the hall to accommodate everyone wanting to play.
For the last few months, the Queen of Hearts jackpot has been growing and growing and, after this past Monday, the jackpot has swollen to over $50,000! And, there are only five numbers left on the Queen of Hearts board.

The Queen of Hearts is hiding behind the number 1, 25, 20, 38 or 51. The person who finds her (and that just may happen tomorrow night) is going to win 70% of that total jackpot. That jackpot currently stands at $51,402.00. But here's the deal. It's going to grow, by leaps and bounds, when the doors to the Big Blue Bingo Hall open Thursday evening.
It's been doing that for weeks. Here's some perspective for you. On Monday evening, the jackpot stood at $43,211.00 at the start of the night. By the time someone was chosen to try to find the Queen of Hearts just a couple of hours later, the jackpot had grown beyond $50,000. There were literally 8,191 $1 tickets purchased Monday night and the jackpot grew by $8,191.00. That's amazing!
Andrea Aud, the bingo coordinator for Trinity High, expects that same kind of action on Thursday. In fact, she sent me a message via Facebook earlier this week that said, "Please let everyone know to bring their own chair to guarantee a seat!" It's going to be THAT busy and she fully anticipates incredibly long lines to get into the facility.
The Owensboro Big Blue Bingo Hall has a capacity of 850 players. There were 600 present on Monday night, all vying for their chance to win the Queen of Hearts Jackpot, now the second biggest in the history of Trinity High Bingo. The biggest jackpot, $139,529, was claimed in September of 2018. Andrea says tomorrow the crowd will be capped at "815 to allow for workers." Obviously, it's taking a lot of volunteers to manage the crowd, the excitement and to sell those Queen of Hearts tickets.
Here's how the Queen of Hearts game works. To be eligible to win the jackpot you MUST be seated at a table and officially playing Bingo at the Big Blue Bingo Hall. Doors open at 4:45pm. Pull tab and Queen of Heart sales begin at 5. Bingo games start at 6:45pm. The Queen of Hearts drawing will take place just before the final Bingo game of the night.
