Powerball jackpot now at $412 million, Mega Millions at $377 million
RALEIGH, NC (PRESS RELEASE) — The Powerball and Mega Millions jackpots both continue to grow, giving North Carolinians two chances this week to take home prizes ranging from $377 million to $412 million.
Tonight’s Powerball jackpot stands at a $412 million annuity that is worth $194 million in cash. Tuesday’s Mega Millions jackpot stands at a $377 million annuity that is worth $175.4 million in cash.
“When both the Powerball and Mega Millions jackpots keep climbing like this, players start to dream bigger and bigger,” said Mark Michalko, executive director of the N.C. Education Lottery. “Just remember it only takes one lucky ticket to win. Good luck to everybody going for the jackpots this week.”
• 45,711: That’s the combined total number of winning tickets in Friday’s Mega Millions drawing and Saturday’s Powerball drawing
• $13.6 million: That’s the estimate of how much money has been raised for education during the current Powerball and Mega Millions jackpot runs.
The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292 million. The odds of winning a Mega Millions jackpot are 1 in 302 million.
