Plans For Hard Rock Casino in Indiana Halted Because of Construction Costs
Gary Hotel in Indiana won't join the Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana properties expansion plans. Hard Rancher International didn't approve the hotel's construction.
Hard Rock International has postponed the construction of a new hotel in Gary, Indiana due to the economic uncertainty. The company is interested in working with Gary hotel, but they plan to bring the hotel to Steel City. Wind Creek Chicago Southland casino and hotel is also being delayed due of the costs of construction. It is located six miles to west of East Hazel Crest, near the Indiana-Illinois border.
Gary's Hard Rock casino earned $7.2 million in capital improvements since the opening on May 14, 2021. The casino is worth $300 million. It has 65 slot machines and a Fresh Harvest buffet. Hard Rook has been the casino with the highest earnings in Indiana for the last 14 months. It outperformed the Majestic Star Casinos on Lake Michigan.
