Pender woman wins big on $10 ticket in NC Lottery
A Pender County woman tried her luck on a $10 lottery ticket and scored a $134,857 jackpot.
Corinne Leontieff, 35, of Hampstead, said she'll use her winnings to pay some bills, invest and save for her son's future.
"I was in shock of course," she said. "Still kind of in shock."
According to a news release from the North Carolina Education Lottery, Leontieff bought her lucky Big Bucks Bingo ticket late last month at the Hampstead Country Store on U.S. 17 South in Hampstead.
Leontieff said it was her first time playing a Fast Play game.
"It's a blessing," she said.
After federal and state tax withholdings, Leontieff took home $95,765 when she claimed her prize Thursday.
