Parx Casino, Sixers Extend Gambling Deal
The Philadelphia 76ers have announced an extension of their partnership with Greenwood Gaming, the parent company of Parx Casino in Pennsylvania.
The extended partnership designates Parx Casino and its online gambling app as “official banner partners” of the Philadelphia 76ers. Parx Casino is already the “official local casino” of the 76ers. Terms of the extension were not disclosed.
The 2022-23 NBA season kicked off on Tuesday night.
“[Parx] has been an incredible partner of the Philadelphia 76ers as they truly understand the passion and energy of our fan base,” Katie O’Reilly, 76ers Chief Revenue Officer, said in a statement. “We are thrilled to have [Parx] and all of its offerings as an official 76ers Banner Partner. Through this extension, we look forward to sharing the [Parx] experience with our fans for many seasons to come.”
“Parx Casino is excited to continue our relationship with the 76ers. Our partnership has been very productive, and the 76ers business team is a great partner to work with,” said Marc Oppenheimer, Chief Marketing Officer at Parx Casino.
The online gambling division of Parx also praised the deal. Pennsylvania is one of a handful of states that allows both online sports betting and online casino gambling.
“We are thrilled to extend our partnership with the Philadelphia 76ers into the 2022-2023 season and beyond as an Official Winning Partner of the team,” said Gil Bushkin, Senior Director of betPARX Interactive Marketing. “This is a natural progression for betPARX after being presenting sponsor of the 2022 76ers playoff run.”
Parx, the highest-grossing casino in the Keystone State, is home to a 7,500-square-foot sportsbook. The casino opened the $10 million sportsbook in 2019, not long after the state legalized sports gambling.
The casino is also home to over 3,200 slot machines, 188 live table games, and a poker room with 48 poker tables. It has one of the largest poker rooms in the state.
The 76ers are one of the top contenders to win the 2022-23 NBA title.
