PA Casinos Win $429 Million In July
Pennsylvania’s gambling market inched up 1.3% year-over-year last month.
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board that the combined total revenue generated from all forms of gaming during July 2022 was $429.07 million, an increase of 1.28% compared to revenue generated in July 2021.
Sources of gaming revenue regulated by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board include slot machines, table games, internet gaming, sports wagering, fantasy contests and video gaming terminals (VGTs).
Total tax revenue generated collectively through all forms of gaming and fantasy contests was $177.1 million during July 2022.
July’s gross revenue from brick-and-mortar casino slot machines was $213.9 million, a 4.03% decrease compared to July 2021. The number of slot machines in operation in July 2022 was 25,684, compared to 25,710 at the casinos in July 2021.
Tax revenue from the play of slots in July 2022 was $108.8 million.
Table games revenue for July 2022 was $86.6 million, a decrease of 0.27% from July 2021 when revenue was $86.9 million. Tax revenue from table games during July 2022 was $13.9 million.
Online casinos generated gross revenue of $98.5 million during July 2022 compared to $88.6 million in July 2021, an increase of 11.15%. Tax revenue generated from internet gaming play during July 2022 was $43 million.
July sports wagering handle was $336.5 million, a 10.54% increase over the July 2021 total of $304,415,503. Revenue of $25.4 million was up compared to $19.8 million in July 2021, an increase of 28.14%.
